A genius weft is a machine-made weft with a thin seam, attached with beads or by sewing. Butterfly Weft — Dani Steel's premium hair extension technology — is built differently: an ultra-thin, flexible perforated polyurethane base with a deliberately low profile.
The perforations are the point of the design. They are what the fixation passes through.
Two different fixations
Butterfly Weft is fixed mechanically, with micro rings applied through the perforated base. There is no glue, no adhesive, and no traditional braided-track sewing. Weight is distributed across many attachment points instead of concentrating on a single track.
A genius weft is typically attached with beads or sewn. Both are legitimate mechanical attachments; they differ in what carries the load and where.
