Hair extension maintenance, method by method
Each Dani Steel method is maintained differently. Where an interval is approved, this guide states it exactly; where none is published, it says who decides.
Ultra Thin Weft: a move-up about every 6 weeks
Ultra Thin Weft has professional maintenance about every 6 weeks. These are quick move-ups, 5–10 minutes per weft, done in-salon by a trained professional.
At the third maintenance the weft is removed and reapplied.
Invisible Tape Weft: new tape, the same weft
Invisible Tape Weft has professional maintenance every 6–8 weeks, in-salon, by a trained professional. The tape is removed with a solvent and replaced, and the same weft is reused.
Each weft takes about 5–10 minutes.
At home, between visits
Ultra Thin Weft is treated as premium human hair: a sulfate-free wash, heat protection, and gentle detangling from the ends up.
With Invisible Tape Weft, the care is around the tape: no oils, moisturizers or scalp lotions near it, sulfate-free products, no excessive heat near the tape because it can soften, and heat protection with a dryer and hot tools.
Ultra Realistic Topper: put on at home
The Topper is put on with micro clips, by you — no glue, no tape, no salon — and it can be worn every day.
A blow-dryer and a flat iron can be used; colour it only with an ammonia-free dye. How long it lasts depends on care and on how often it is worn — worn every day, on average about two years.
Butterfly Weft: confirmed by a specialist
Dani Steel does not publish a maintenance interval for Butterfly Weft. Application is performed by a trained professional, and suitability, colour match and maintenance are confirmed by a specialist in consultation, considering hair condition, density and your goals.
