Hair topper for thinning hair: who it's for and how to wear it
A topper is a hair piece that covers only the top of the head, where volume usually goes first: the part, the crown and the front. It does not replace all your hair the way a wig does — it blends with your own and brings back volume and coverage where you need it.
Topper or wig?
A wig covers the whole head and hides your own hair. A topper covers only the top and blends with your own hair at the sides and back. That is why it suits you when there is still hair in those areas and the loss of volume is concentrated on top.
On the Ultra Realistic Topper, the base is a hand-crafted 3 × 5 in silk base that looks like your own scalp at the part.
Who it's for
For thinning at the top or part when you want coverage right away; for volume at the crown without extensions through the whole head; for alopecia or areas of hair loss; and for anyone who would rather put it on and take it off herself, with no salon.
It is not recommended with an allergic or fungal condition of the scalp, or when a doctor advises against it because of a specific treatment. A topper covers the area — it is not a treatment.
What the Ultra Realistic Topper is
100% human hair, in 14" (35 cm) or 16" (40 cm), on the hand-crafted silk base. It attaches with micro clips: you put it on yourself — no glue, no tape, no salon.
There are 16 shades — 8 solid and 8 blended — photographed without retouching.
How to put it on
Part your hair where you usually do. Place the topper over the area to cover. Close the micro clips close to the root of your own hair. Then blend the ends of the topper with your hair.
Every day: heat, colour and how long it lasts
It can be worn every day. A blow-dryer and a flat iron can be used as usual; to colour it, use only an ammonia-free dye.
How long it lasts depends on care and on how often it is worn. Worn every day, on average about two years.
How to choose the shade
Match the colour of your lengths, not your root. If your hair has highlights or a visible root, the 8 blended shades were made for exactly that.
